Black screen when pressing play

When I start the game I get to the character screen. After hitting play the game then gets a black screen and freezes shortly after. You can still see the bar at the top with play and shop. Any ideas? I have checked game files and updated GPU drivers. The game worked fine before and not played it for a couple weeks or so.

When i pick "Veteran" i have the same, but when i start on "Adventurer" game starts normal.
