General
- Optimisations to server's game update latency, to reduce occasional micro-stutter.
- Fixed a bug that caused players to spawn outside of the world boundaries ("black screen bug").
- Respawn on checkpoint option is re-enabled at any character level, but only outside of Boss arenas or special events.
- However, players will now generate death streak by dying within 2 minutes from the previous death. If this streak reaches 3 deaths or above, a penalty will be imposed:
Non-seasonal: revive options will be locked for 10 sec per each death in streak above 3, up to 30 sec.
Seasonal: player will be revived in town. (Because displaying respawn options in that game mode is limited by game client).
- Deaths in boss rooms or special events do not count towards death streak, player will always respawn in town in that case.
Season 10 mechanics
- Piles of bones may randomly spawn in each location. Destroying these bones (including a stray hit from AoE attacks) will spawn a pack of Cow warriors, spear throwers, shamans, or a special Cow Goblin. Occasionally, unique Cow monsters will also spawn.
- Encountering and defeating the Cow Princess will drop a guaranteed Legendary item, if current game difficulty is Master or above.
- Defeating any Rare, Unique or Boss (not just the Cows) will have a chance to drop socketable Shard. Both drop chance and shard quality scale with game difficulty, and killing a Boss counts as +1 to difficulty for that purpose.
- Higher tier Shards will drop only on higher game difficulties. For example, Greater Rare Shards will start dropping at Master and above, Lesser Legendary Shards - at Torment 1 and above, and Greater Legendary Shards - at Torment 2 and above. Rule of thumb is - the higher the difficulty - the greater the chance to get higher quality shards, while Lesser Magic Shards become much less common on high difficulty.

- Cows may be encountered in Nephalem Rifts, but won't give loot or Rift progression there. They will still give experience and Elemental Rampage (kill streak) stacks.
In-Game
- Den of the Fallen in Act 1 will now have second floor, making it possible to complete bounty there.
- Rad'noj unique monster in Act 1 will be targetable, making it possible to complete bounty there.
- Significantly increased chance to encounter Legendary Chest, however Legendary Chests will no longer appear in extremely small areas like cellars or Boss arenas. They may still appear in caverns.
- Fixed a bug where Shrines and Healing/Reflection Wells would disappear from the game after some time.
- Fixed all Shrine effect buffs on players, according to their UI tooltip.
- Shrines and Wells are now significantly more common in Seasonal play.
- Fixed Gold Find% attribute on players.
- Increased cooldown for Azmodan minions spawn during battle with him.
